Bio
My paintings are occasionally reminiscent of a childhood amongst the picket fences and coastal landscape views of Sydney in the 1970s.
I love to create art that is thought-provoking, engaging, and fascinating.
I am driven by a search for beauty, usually with an expression of fragility.
I aim to tie nostalgia, timelessness and an ‘east meets west’ sensitivity together.
I love the texture and decoration techniques that were learnt from time as a commercial ceramicist and combine them with surrealist narratives and hints of Chinoiserie to express “recent antiquity”.
My paintings are complex, unique, and personal all at the same time.
Through my work, I search for the place where the composition of objects takes the viewer on a journey into the recall of forgotten memories, and into thoughtfulness.
My work has found its way into collections around Australia and internationally.
