There is a quiet magic in standing where the ocean meets the shore, gazing beyond the horizon as the world seems to slow its pace. In those moments, time dissolves, worries drift away, and the rhythm of the sea becomes all that matters.

My, Myself and the Ocean invites the viewer into this peaceful escape. One can almost feel the cool water swirling around their feet, feel the salty sea air, and listen to the  waves rolling onto the sand. I sort to capture the serenity and give the viewer a chance to connect, escape and lose one self in the moment.

What Fun We Have is a celebration of the carefree days of summer and the simple joys that stay with us throughout our lives. I wanted to capture a fleeting moment of laughter, friendship, and freedom as three women play together by the sea, completely immersed in the happiness of the moment. The bright colours and playful energy are intended to evoke feelings of nostalgia and remind us of times when life felt uncomplicated and full of possibility.

Bathed in soft turquoise light, this artwork captures a fleeting moment of joy, glamour, and the carefree femininity of the 1950’s. The figure’s relaxed pose and radiant smile evoke the warmth of an endless summer afternoon in an era where style, confidence, and optimism could be expressed by the high fashion of a bathing suit.

This painting is inspired by vintage swimsuits. Delicate floral accents, and warm sunlit skin evokes a nostalgia for timeless summer days. The composition celebrates femininity, and the quiet power of solitude. In this painting I sought to convey a moment suspended between nostalgia and possibility. The woman, poised beside a vintage car, feels both familiar and distant. Through vibrant colour and cinematic composition, the work explores the themes of freedom, travel, femininity, and memory. Her turquoise dress and polka-dot scarf echo the elegance and optimism of another era.

This artwork explores the sensation of weightlessness – the figure is suspended between earth and sky, contrasted against pastel pink clouds. I wanted to convey a vulnerability, beauty and strength that is found in risk and launching out into the unknown.
